Why Are We Here?

Past Events and ActivitiesSCIENCE OR SAVAGERY?ASA sponsored the appearance on campus of Nobel Laureate Harold Kroto. He presented his lecture, "Can the Internet Save the Enlightenment?" on Saturday, January 17, 2009, in the Marshall Student Center Ballroom. About 90 students, faculty and visitors attended. Meet & GreetsThe Atheist Student Alliance staffed a table from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 1/14, at the Bull Market. We shared free pizza with the USF community and several members also provided an alternative voice to the "Fear God" preacher tag-team crazies who shout imprecations and insults at students outside Cooper Hall. Our take on the atheist alternative is free from groundless fear and promotes education, tolerance, curiosity and rational thinking.
